The City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma For Professional Dog Stylists
This is the second part of the City & Guilds Level 3 Dog Grooming qualification.
Although you will have been trained to this standard during the 45 Day Course, we strongly recommend that you have at least 12 months experience as a dog groomer before you consider taking the final practical exams.
To complete the Level 3 Diploma for Professional Dog Stylists, you will need to have achieved the following: –
To have successfully completed the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Introductory Dog Grooming.
To have trimmed three dogs, each within one hour (bathing, ears, nails and sanitary areas to be completed prior to the exam). Successful candidates can achieve a pass, merit or distinction.
To have performed a successful hand-strip.
The required modules for the 1-hour exams are as follows:
- A gundog,
- A short-legged terrier
- A long-legged terrier
- A poodle
Candidates are required to choose three from this list. The three one hour trimming modules have to be taken at an approved City & Guilds examination centre. The examiners are externally appointed.
The fees for the Level 3 Diploma are payable directly to The Pet Care Trade Association and are NOT included in the 45 Day Course fees.
Please note that Abbfabb Academy of Dog Grooming Training is a City & Guilds approved examination centre.
