City and Guilds Dog Grooming Level 2 / Level 3 - The 55-Day Professional Dog Grooming Course

Our most popular pet grooming course, mainly because it’s over a long enough period to allow the student not only to learn but also have enough time to be able to develop the confidence needed to pass exams and to be able to run a business after training.

The combined City and Guilds Levels 2 and 3 delivers the training and underpinning knowledge to offer a professional service to your clients. Both qualifications cover a comprehensive range of skills, from safe handling and animal care to carrying out a range of salon trims using clipping, scissoring and hand-stripping techniques.

This course is for 55 days, which includes 5 days for the practical and theory assessments for the Levels 2 and 3 qualifications. This is our most popular course and is the most suitable if you wish to offer a commercial grooming service.

It is a compulsory requirement of City and Guilds that Level 2 must be achieved before a candidate can be enrolled for the Level 3.

This means that you will do this at home, with access to support by telephone, email and through our social media page, although we ask that you exercise consideration when using the telephone option. We will also hold theory workshops in the school, and of course, you can talk through any queries you have about the theory at the end of every training day. Once the Open Learning theory studies are complete, you will have completed a substantial amount of hours, in both practical and the development of underpinning knowledge.

You will also receive the Abbfabb Certificate in Professional Dog Grooming. This option will increase your course to 55 days to include the assessments for Levels 2 and 3.
